The genre we picked

The genre i picked was Horror (thriller/scary). We picked this as our genre because some of our favorite films belong in this genre.
All horror things have 4 things in common with are some of the most importat thins in that genre:
One of the most important thins is the 'catch phrase'. Haveing a good catch phrase will outlast the forgettable plot of the horror movie, and is usually seen on the movie poster. Its the phrase in the movie that you never forget and when u hear the movie name comes straight into your head. For example, “They’re here” from Poltergeist and “I see dead people” from Sixth Sense.

The second thing that is important is ;Sequels'. Sequels are a major requirement to horror movies, there usually much more cheesy and gory than the original. It doesn’t matter if the main killer of the movie has been blown up, drowned, hacked to death, burned, shot, run over, tarred and feathered – he still makes a return in all of the many, many sequels to come.

The third is 'Creepy Music', to me this is proboably the most important. It has such a strong effect on the film/scene it can practically change your view on the sitation. A lot of the time when you film something it dosent look that scary however, the minuete you add typical horror/creepy music to it, it becomes very tense and scary. The music that supports a horror film is usually way scarier than the actual movie. And it often gives the audience a heads-up before something “bad” happens.

The fourth is 'Evil Entity'. Every film needs a good versus evil storyline. Good is usually the hot, semi-clothed teens and evil can be anything from a guy in a mask, a great white shark, a haunted house, zombies, a guy in your dreams.

When we were looking for three movies to compare these are the main things we looked for because these will be important to us when makeing our film.
