to film both our preliminary task and main task we used the Sony PD170.
We got taught in class how to use the camera, what each induvidula part is called, when to use the tripod, the cover for the microphone...etc.
The camera is fairly big and from the first glane looks quite complicated to use, however once you understand how it works its very straith forward and let you produce very clear, good qulity shots.
